Everything you need to know about Godavari Pushkaralu 2027. Find answers to common questions about dates, rituals, and preparations.

The Adi Pushkaralu (first 12 days) is scheduled from June 26, 2027 to July 7, 2027. The Antya Pushkaralu (last 12 days) will be observed from July 13 to July 24, 2028.
Godavari Pushkaralu is associated with a 12-year cycle linked to Jupiter's transit through the zodiac. Each sacred river in India has its own Pushkaram year based on this celestial calendar.
Devotees take a holy dip (Pushkara Snanam) in the Godavari river, perform pujas at riverbank temples, conduct ancestral rituals (tarpanam and pindam), and engage in charitable activities like food distribution.
The most auspicious times are during Brahma Muhurta (approximately 4:00 AM - 5:30 AM) and at sunrise. However, baths taken at any time during Pushkaralu are considered sacred. Consult the local panchang for specific muhurtas.
The event is planned on the scale of Kumbh Mela, with approximately 8 crore (80 million) devotees expected across all locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the festival period.
Key locations include Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry), Kovvur, Pattiseema, and Antarvedi in Andhra Pradesh, and Basara, Dharmapuri, Kaleswaram, and Bhadrachalam in Telangana. Over 96 locations have been identified along the Godavari.
Both state governments are undertaking extensive preparations including ghat development, road infrastructure, accommodation facilities, medical camps, and crowd management systems. Nine Tier-I high-footfall areas are being prioritized for development works.
